CAUTION! ASPI is not supported in any version of Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 and should not be installed. No update will be available to support these operating systems.


Note: This is a generic version of the ASPI layer. The ASPI layer is not device specific and may not work with all devices, if problems are still encountered after installing this version of the ASPI layer, contact the device manufacturer.
If the device being used requires a special version of ASPI layer, Adaptec recommends the peripheral manufacturer be contacted for additional support.

Products being produced for Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows ME, must be " OS compliant " with these operating systems. Please check with the manufacturers of products and devices, for any updates for their devices, software applications and proper release levels, to run under the Microsoft operating systems.

The latest ASPI layer can be downloaded from the Adaptec web site

ASPICHK.EXE included in the download can be used to determine if ASPI has loaded properly.

CAUTION! This latest version of the ASPI layer is designed for Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows NT 4.0, Windows ME, Windows XP and Windows 2000 ONLY and should not be installed into any other operating system.
Do not install the ASPI layer version 4.7x on a Windows 95 system. ASPI layer version 4.60 should be used for Windows 95. It is still available on the EZ-SCSI 5.01 download page
